The chair waa occupied by Mr T. S. Foster, and a very pleasant evening was spent. Messrs Seager and Mannering showed some splendid limelight views of Alpine scenery. Mr R. Beetham gave 6ome reminiscences of early settlers' life in the North Island, and vocal items were contributed by Messrs Barkas, Sims and others.
