Canterbury Trades and Labour Council.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Trades and Labour Council was held at the Temperance Hall, Gloucester street, on Saturday evening, the Vice-President (Mr Large) presiding. Inward correspondence on various matters was read and dealt with. The resignation of Mr F. S. Parker, Secretary of the Council, was accepted, and Mr F. C. Gerard appointed to the position. The appointment to the Presidency of the Council, rendered vacant by the resignation of Mr E. Sandford, M.H.R., was deferred until next meeting, August 5.
