, Last night a meeting of the Christchurch 'Regatta Club was hold in the Canterbury Rowing Club sheds, tbere being present Measrs J. O. Jones (Chairman), J. R. Evans, F. W. Hobba, P. Triggs, G. H. Mason, N. L.M'Beth and F. D. Keateven (Hon Secretary). ■ The dispute over tho Champion Fours race at the lato regatta was considered, and a letter read f roraa Mr A. L. Bias, Hon Secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Bowing Association. He stated that Mr Field and other delegates agreed that to call a special meetiag to ■ consider the resolution from the Club would be useless, as it was impossible to net outsido delegates to attend, and all Clubs would be represented by Wellington men, and they could do very little on the evidence before them. The reßult would be that the Association would decide that it was powerless to do anything but refer the matter back to the Club. No harm could be done by leaving the matter till the annual meeting in October, when delegates could be present in person. Mr M. Beth moved — " That the Association having taken no Bteps in the matter of the Championship Fours referred to it by this Committee, the Secretary be inBtructed to write to tbe Association withdrawing the resolution of the Committee of March 8." Mr Mason seconded the motion, which was carried. -.-... Mr Evans moved — "That considering the importance of tbe motion as referring to one of the Association's championships, this Committee wishes to express itsi dis-> aatisfaotion at tbe inaction of the New Zealand Rowing Association in not taking some steps to enquire into the matter at; once.".' '-...../ Mr Kesteven seconded the motion, which was carried. -..-■..'.■ > ' The meeting then terminated. ■'
