The Industrial World.
TO THE BDITOB. Sib,— Tour "Industrial World" column^ ia greatly pleasing others besides mjßelf, and I think you deserve the thanks of the whole community for bringing before us euch interesting facts. In that column we see the agitation that is taking place in all parts of the world in connection with the labour problem. My impression is that sweating will not be abolished until respectable employers join in with their employees to put it down. Giving good wages of course means that we should have to pay a little more for our goods, and although only a small farmer myself, £ should be glad to do so if it would enable me to get more for my produce, and I feel positive that that would be the ultimate result, for there would be a maoh greater demand for wool and all kinds of dairy produce, and shoddy— the dearest in reality of all goods— would Boon be discarded. Thanking you very much.— l am, &c, ASHBURTON.
