[Special to Press Association.] GOVERNMENT RESIGNATION. ADELAIDE, June 14. The Ministry has resigned. Sir John Downer, on meeting the House to-day, said such an indignity as had been placed on the Government by the action of the Opposition had never been inflicted under a constitutional Government. He had advised his Excellency to send for the Hon C. C. Kingston, who actually moved the resolution on which the Government was defeated Mr Kingston explained that the party had taken hurried action to prevent waste of time and avoid an acrimonious debate on the Address-in-reply. Speaking on the subject in the Legislative Council, the Eon R. C. Baker said that if Mr Kingston became Premier while liable to conviction as the challenger in a recent duel, he would endeavour to test whether that hon gentleman could constitutionally hold the position.
