Work at Cheviot.

Definite instructions were received this morning by Mr Lomas of the Christchurch Branch of the Bureau of Industries to arrange for twenty men to go from here to road work on the Cheviot Estate. The men will be seleoted at the Bureau at ten o'clook to-morrow morning. They will be joined by fifteen men from Oamaru and ten from Timaru, and will leave Christchurch about Tuesday morning by train for the Waipara, where they will be met by waggons, and taken right on to the work. The men will be required to form themselves into gangs of five before leaving, and will have to take two or three days' cooked provisions with them, and to provide their own cooking utensils during their stay on the woiks.
