-. •» The Merivale Club had a practice on North Park on Saturday, when a picked fifteen played the rest of the Club, who numbered about forty. The play throughout was fast, special attention being paid to passing, and finally the fifteen won by thirty-three points to eighteen.- Menzies, Lang and Frazer (backs) and Evans, Mensies and Corsbie. (forwards) showed good form; while, on the Club side, some good play waß shown, by Barry, Mason and 'Lawrence (backs) and Marriner, M'Farlane and Kennedy forward. - On Saturday last, a football match was played between the Union and Pacific teams on the North Park, the former winning by a try scored by W. Lennon. 1 The Pirates held a practice at Addington on Saturday, there being a good attendance. Whitley, Beck, Rodger, Shackleton, Young and Patterson played well for the team ; Si'Callum, Margetts and Moncki man were the pick of the others. Jjk
