CRICKET.
The cricket season was practically closed in North Canterbury on Saturday by a match between teams representing the Ashley County Club and the North. Canterbury Cricket Association. The latter put a strong eleven in the field, but the County players proved too good for it, winning the match by 54 runß on the first innings. The scores were : Ashley County 100 (Gulliver not out 83, Cumberworth 26) and 74 for four wickets (G. H. Helmore 36); North Canterbury Association 46 (F. Adams 20.)
