The Cheviot Estate. — A Prees Association telegram received last night Bays : — The Government proposes to dispose of the Cheviot land in paddocks as fenced. They will be put up separately on whatever tenure may be considered best. The agricultural land will be leased till Oct. 1 next, and the pastoral land till April 1, 1894. Papanui Athletic Club.— A special general meeting of this Club was held at Papanui on Monday evening for the purpose of discussing the coming football season; Mr M. Campbell occupied the chair. There was a good attendance. It was decided that the Club Bhonld play football this season, and the General Committee was empowered to make arrangements. It was unanimously resolved to hold an athletic ball on or about April 13 to eelebrate the closing of the Club's first cricket season.
