Pbotkstant Alliance.— The Queen's Own Lodge held ita usual meeting oik Monday. The W.M., Bro T. E. Toneyoliffe, who had been away on account of illness, was welcomed back to the chair. The sick list was found to be heavier than usual, and the sum of £9 8a waa pasßed as sick pay. One member was received by clearance and one candidate proposed for membership. The Queensland Belief Committee reported having attended meetings at the Council Chambers, and ifc was resolved that the Lodge should open a subscription list on behalf of the Belief Fund, and also take .part in the proposed demonstration.. Members of the Order were. urged to watch the papers for details of coming arrangement*.'- The Lodge then closed in the usual manner. Pkbbonal.— Mr John Alexander Ewen, of the well-known firm of Bargood, Son and Ewen,' of this city and of London, England* has been admitted to the livery of the Framework Kmttere' Company, one of the old City Guilds whose craft was the knitting of hosiery and lace goods by a machine instead of the old hand-knitting needlee.
