Queensland Belief Regatta.
TO THB BDITOB. Sib, — I am pleased to see some step I taken in the direction of a demonstration toward the above fund. The proposition of | a regatta I think an excellent idea, but to [ to make it a succesa requires the support of everybody. If the Committee would write to to the whole of the Bowing Clubs, and also ask the co-operation of the two Yacht Clubs, I am sure a splendid day's sport could be arranged. A public holiday could be proclaimed, and there is no donbt of the publio giving their patronage. If asked, I am Bure the railway authorities would make some concession, and the b.d. John Anderson, Akaroa and perhaps "the tug-" could be obtained to convey the people to Ehodes' Bay, which is certainly a magnificent spot for picnic grounds, and without doubt the beat place ' in Canterbury for outrigger racing. We have seen, by yonr paper, the very kind offer of Mr George Agar and his partners to convey passengers, pro* eeeds to go to the relief fund; and, if the other steamship owners wonld follow his good example, there is no doubt the regatta would be a thorough financial success.— l am, &c, LTTTELTONIAN. j 1 I
