The Bands' Performance.
TO THS BDITOB. Sib,— This evening the Christchurch bandsmen will entertain their supporters to ohoice selections on the rotunda, and will doubtless draw a large assemblage of people. The object of the bandsmen is sufficient without further remark to ensure a handsome sum towards the Brisbane Belief Fund, and the Christchurch publio, always generous, will, I hope, maintain their good name. Anent these band performances I have a suggestion whioh is worthy of the attention of our worthy Inspector of Police, i.e., that a constable should be on duty to keep the numerous noisy boyß from rushing around on the concrete and causing a decidedly "bad strain" in the evening's performance. Then again the swarm that climbs abont .the railings must be very annoying to the bandsmen ; it certainly does not. enhance the evening's aniusement. I hope-, a constable will be on duty to end the nuisance, which has been the cause of discomfort .to the men, and disagreeable to the public.—: I am, &c, UNA COBDA.
