Chebtset Sports Committee On Saturday evening a meeting was held in the Chertsey Library for the purpose of forming a Committee to carry out the annual sports. There was only a moderate attendance. Mr T. Eeilly was voted to the chair, and on the motion ,of Mr George Stringfellow, seconded by Mr Hood, it was agreed to call another meeting for Saturday, Feb. 25. St John's Sunday School.— A large and appreciative audience assembled in St John's schoolroom last night, when a concert was given in aid of the funds for providing the annual treat for the children attending the Sunday school in connection i with the church, Miss Henderson opened the proceedings with a pianoforte selection very nicely played. Mißs "Watson sang " All in a Garden Fair "very sweetly, and was encored, bub she declined to give another song. Mrs Popham received a eimilar compliment for her song " Mona," but she only bowed in acknowledgment. Misa Partridge sang " Apart " very sympathetically, and was greeted with hearty applause. Mr H. Weir was heard to great advantage in •" Estudiantina," which was excellently Bung, and in response to a well-merited encore he sang "The Quaker" equally as well, and narrowly escaped being recalled. Mr J. Marshall sang "The Mighty Daep" very well, and Mr Farrant gave a very good rendering of "Maud." Mr Steere sang " My Pretty Jane" very well indeed, and also took part in a duet with Mr Farrant, "I Heard a Voice." The accompaniments were played by Misses Varthaand Watßon. The cantata, entitled Dick Whittington and His Cat, was given by several of the Sunday school children in a very creditable manner, the principal parts being as follow:— The Cook (Miss Miriam Wataon), Miss Fifczwarren (JVfiaa Lily Hare), Fifczwarren (Master T. Wauchbp), the Captain {Master Leo Smith), Dick Whittington (Master J. Wauchop). The choruses were spiritedly given, and showed that the 1 children had been, carefully trained. Miss Watson played the accompaniments.
