CHRISTCHURCH. This Dat. (Before H. Thomson, Esq.) Dbunkenness.— Ellen Denby alias Parkinson, against whom the Bench said there was " a terrible and shocking record," she having been convicted sixty-one timeß for drunkenness besides other offences, was fine 5s and Is cab hire, in default fcwencyfour hours' imprisonment. She left the Court with expressions of "Thank, you sir," and " I will not come up again," &c. — Suean Malcolm was fined 5s and Is cab hire, in default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. (Before R. Beetham, Esq., R.M.) Civil Cases. — Judgment by default was given for plaintiffs in the following cases : — R. Lever v. W. Butler, claim £7 7s ; John Howard v. John Hill, 10s ; Whitcombe and Tombs v. G. R. Wylde, £13 18a 2d; James Irving v. W. B. Thomson, £G 13s ; John Priestnall v. A. Hutton, £8 sa ; Fletcher, Humphreys and Co. v. G. Harvey, £30.
