DEATH FROM EATING GREEN APPLES.
i AbDut seven o'clock yesterday evening a young man named Albert Jordan, about . twenty years old, presented himself at the : Christchurch Hospital, complaining of 1 great pain in the stomach. He said that ; he had been eating green apples, which ho > supposed had caused his sufferings. He [ was admitted and attended to, but, despite . all that could be done for him, he died L about three o'clock this morning. He was , in the employ of, Mr Karl Grieahaber, I jeweller, Papanui, and his mother resides ) in Christchurch. , At the inquest which was held at the Hospital this afternoon, Dr De Renzi gave r evidence which suggested that arsenical poisoning might have been the cause of \ death, and the proceedings were adjourned i in order that an analysis of the contents ) of the stomach might be made.
