ACCIDENT ON THE RAILWAY.
Last evening Mr Garretfc, farmer, of Cust, with his wife and daughter was driving home from the Eangiora market, and when about mid-way between Eangiora and Fernside the horse became frightened at the approach of the Sangiora-Oxford train, and backed the trap on to the line. The train came into collision with the vehicle and the occupants were thrown out with considerable violence. Mr Garrett escaped with a few bruises, but his wife and daughter received more serious injuries, the extent of which could not be ascertained last night. The trap was smashed to pieces.
