Kaiapoi Licensing Election.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — After prolonged consideration, the Temperance party have agreed on their candidates for the licensing election. From a careful study of the list, I conclude that any person who would obey the bidding of the leaders of the local prohibition movement would receive the party's support. Surely the party must be in great straits for candidates when it has been found necessary to nominate a resident of Woodend. The moderate party have wisely chosen well known residents. Two of them have been members of several Licensing Committees. I can confidently assert that the whole five may be relied on to carry out their duties according to the law wisely, and without calling to their aid the assistance of female spies.— l am, ko., A RESIDENT.
