WELLINGTON. Jan. 18.
The Lyttelton yachts, Pastime and Mascotte, which take part in the regatta on Thursday, arrived in the harbour at four o'clock this afternoon, and they were met at the Heads by the local mosquito fleet, and escorted up the bay. The officers of the steamer Wairarapa, which arrived from Auckland, via the East Coast, this morning, report that a sharp look out was kept for tho yacht Maritana, which left Auckland for Wellington on Jan. 12, but they saw nothing of her. Ab strong southerly weather was experienced off Gisborne, it iB expected that the little craft was compelled to seek shelter.
