School Committees.

SYDENHAM.

A meeting of the School Committee waa held on Tuesday ; present — Messrs F. C. Hall (Chairman), E. Jones, S. Wilson, F. S. Aaquith, O. Peacock and B. R. Muffett. A letter was received from the Borough Council, advising that the necessary documents in connection with the exchange of land for a bath site were forwarded to the Government on Oct. 6, last. Since then the matter has been awaiting the attention of the Government. Correspondence was received (rout the Board of Education notifying that owing to the formation of the new district of Waltham, a meeting of hougeholdera will be held on Jan. 19, to elect a new Committee; that Mesßis T. H. Anson, J.Rudienklau and E. G.Wright were retiring from the Board, and eligible for re-election, and asking the Committee to nominate two persons qualified to be members. The Visiting Committee reported that, with the consent of the Chairman, they had had the large drain opened up, it having become stopped with roots growing through the pipea ; and that the Sow from the well was not sufficient to work the ram, and consequently there was not enough water to flush the drains, &o. It was resolved that the action re clearing the drain be approved, and the Board's attention be drawn to the shortness of water, with a request that it be remedied as early as possible.
