MINISTERIAL.
[Pcs Pbesb Association.] WELLINGTON, June 23. Lieutenant-Colonel Hume assumes office as Commissioner of Police at the end of the month, Major Gudgeon having accepted a Judgeship of the Native Land Court. The delay in prosecuting Constable Gillespie, of Manaia, for perjury, is due to the fact that Inspector Pardy, of New Plymouth, has been fully occupied in the murder case. The case has been placed in the hands of the Crown Solicitor at New Plymouth, who will take proceedings at once.
