Derham, PostmasterGeneral, is not inclined to accept the proposed reduction of Colonial postal rate 3, as Victoria has already incurred heavy loss in reducing inland postages, and he considers any further concession inopportune. If, however, the other Colonies accept the proposal, it would be invidious for Victoria to stand out. BRISBANE, April 22. The Po3fcmaster-General states that he is unable to express an opinion on the question until further information is received as to what the loss means to the Colony. ADELAIDE, Apkil 22. It ia understood that Government are likely to oppose any alteration in postal rates involving loss of revenue. SYDNEY, Apbil 22. It is estimated that if postages are reduced by all routes this Colony will Buffer ft loss of about £13,000 annually. Government await the arrival of full details before taking any steps in the matter.
