Fighting Inch by Inch. Level with Embankment* [Eeceived April 18, at 1.15 p.m.] SYDNEY, April 18. The latest news from Bourke is that the water lia on a level with the top of the embankment, and the inhabitants are fighting it inch by Inch. For seven miles the railway line is now impassable. Steamers are waiting to carry off the defenders when the water bursts through the embankments.
