The Lowther Hotel, on the Kingston line, was destroyed by fire on Wednesday afternoon; "Nothing was saved with the exception of a sewing machine. Mr Malone, the proprietor, was in Inveroargill at the time, his wife waa out visiting, and the maid servant was in the garden, so that the origin of the fire 13 unknown. The house wa3 a very old one, and whether it was insured or not is not yet known.
