» jSI-KOIAI. TO J'KKHS ASSOCIATION.! NKW YORK, Nov. 27. One hundred and sixty houses, and a hundred boot factories, covering an area o£ sixty acres have been destroyed by fire at Lynn, a manufacturing town of Massachusetts. [Lynn lies nine miles Norfch-ea3t of Boston. Nearly the whole of its population is engaged in the manufacture of boots and shoes, leather, lasts, and works connected with the trade. In these manufactures about 10,000 hands are employed. The value of thf se goods annually shipped is estimated at 13 000,000 to 14,000,000d015. Lynn has thirty churches, five banks, four newspapers, and & population (in 1880) of 38,284.] SAN FJ&ANCI3CO, Kov. 28. Information has reached here that a large lunatic asylum at Blackmouth, a town in Idaho State, has been destroyed by fire, and that eight of the unfortunate patients perished in the flames.
