Land Board.

« A meeting of the Canterbury Land Board was held on Thursday, Nov. 28, when there were present Mesara J. H. Baker (Chairman), A. C. Wilson, and W. Kifcson. The following busiuess was transacted: — Section 871, Arowhenua village settlement, one acre, waa sold for cash to Eobert Pinckney; Section 21, of Eeserve 1261, near Ashburton, one acre, waa let on perpetual lease to Catherine Betta ; Section 1, in the same reserve, one acre, was sold on deferred payments, to Annie Forman ; Section 870, Arowhenua, cna acre, was sold for cash to Ann Manning ; Section 750, in the same district, quarter-acre, was sold on deferred payment to John Kinp. An application was made by Mr Win. Smart, for a coal-tnining lease in the Hororata Survey District. A number of reports were received from the rangers in the North and South Canterbury district dealing with perpetual leaise and deferred payment sections, and the Board ordered action on them to be taken. The Receiver of Land Raveuue also reported on the arrears of reserve rente due, and the Bonrd directed action to be taken where necessary. The Board then adjourned till Dec. 12.
