This Day. (Before E. Beetham, Esq., R.M.) Deunkbnness.— A first offender was charged with being drunk, and waß fined 58, or ia default twenty-four hours' imprisonment. — Another man, who had not been previously before the Court, was fined 10s. Bbbach op By-Laws. — James Higgs was charged with allowing two horses to wander at large. The ranger proved the cases, and stated that there were eleven previous convictions against Higgs, who was 'fined 10a.— John Bowden, for a similar offence, was fined-lOa. Assault.— J. C. Edwards, cook of the ship Morning Light, sued John Thompson, the steward of the vessel, for assault. After hearing the evidence of the complainant and the carpenter of tho vessel, the Court ordered accused to pay 9a Court coßte and find one surety of JBS. Civil Casks.— Kelley v. Coffer, claim £Q 14a; judgment for £6 9s and Courb coßts, 10s.— -Cuff and Graham v. Woodhill, claim JB9 3b 6d. Mr Cresswell for defendant. This case was withdrawn, plaintiff to pay costs out of pocket. — Hannah t. Gallavan, claim jB3 6a • judgment by default.
