<> We understand that the difficulty between the City Council and the Christchurch Gas Company is in a fair way o£ being settled. Ab a conference between the Lighting Committee of the Council and the Directors of the Gas Company, held last week, a basis of settlement waa agreed upon and referred to the next meeting of the Council for consideration.
