Courtenay Agricultural and Pastoral Association.
A meeting of this Society was held in the Kirwee Hotel on Monday, Mr T. H. Anson, President, in the chair ; present — Messrs Dysarfc, Gough, H. W. M'Lelland, M*Nae, Seaton, Sandison, W. M'Lelland, Addington, A. Davis, W. Clarke, J. Cook, and the Secretary. Correspondence was read from the following gentlemen, consenting to act as Judges at the coming Show:— Messrs Bennett, J. T. Ford, D. Scott, Cole, Dale, Johns, Eider, Walker, Green, Gilmour, Stark, Lyons, Havward, Thorn, M'Nae, Bailey, Taylor, and Jameson. The Secretary stated that the Burnham JBand would be available on the usual terms. Tenders for publican's booth were opened, and Mr Bowers' (for luncheon also) was accepted. The Secretary was authorised to call for tenders for the confectioner's booth. It was resolved to devote three guineas from the Farmers' Co-operative Association's donation to the best pen of freezers (special entry required), the other two guineas divided for the best 751 b of butter for export and greatest number of points in farm produce. It was resolved to call a Bpecial meeting for Wednesday, Nov. 20. Mr P. Riordau and E. Derritfc were elected members, and tha meeting terminated.
