In his address ho referred at length to his visit and reception at Home, and his satisfaction at the welcome accorded him on his return ; to the number of resignations of curates, and to the goo^ work done by lay readers. He also referred especially to the manual work done in many districts by poor men to improve the ohuroh and grounds. The chief business of th,e session would be placing the Theological College on 'a proper footing, and the question of systematic maintenance of church work.
