The Irish Delegates.

[Per Pbesb Association.} AUCKLAND, Nov. 6. The Irish delegates held a public meeting to-night at the City Hall. There was a crowded audience, and the proceedings were very enthueiastic. Addresses were given by Mesors Dillon, Doaay, and j Esmonde, in regard to Irish questions. Mr Dillon, in his speech, urged that the question of Homo Rule was not a religious one, and claimed for the Irish people the right to govern themselves, instead of i being forced to accept a Government which was obnoxious to the majority of them. He pointed out that the same laws could not be made to apply to England and j Ireland, and scouted the idea that Home < Eule meant separation. Sir George Grey j aleo delivered an address. A motion of ; sympathy with the Home Eule cause was j agreed to. Over .£6OO has been subscribed to the Evicted Tenants' Fund, WELLINGTON,. Nov. 6. The Irish envoys, on their arrival in Wellington, will be accorded a public reception, but there will be no procession, baud, or unnecessary display of banners and bannerets. The Eeception Committee will present an address.
