The Weather.
Last evening the long needed rain began to fall, at first intermittently, but later on pretty steadily. All this morning there has been a continuous but by no means heavy rain. Probably this will continue for some hours longer, but the barometer, by its steady riae, gives reason for hope that to-morrow, the people's dsy at the Agricultural and Pastoral Show, will be fine. From Timaru, the Press Association telegraphs:— "Excellent warm rain since midnight, and more coming. It was very very much needed, as the season lias been dry." ________________
