RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
•PASSENGERS SERIOUSLY INJURED. [Special to Pbess Association.] SIDNEY, Oct. 27. A goods train, while watering act the Fish river tanks this morning, was dashed into by a second goods train. Attached to the first train was a passenger carriage containing several passengers and railway employees. This carriage was completely smashed, and many of the occupants were injured. Howard, a carpenter, had some ' of his ribs broken, and his lungs were affected. A man named Wisbey sustained serious injury to his head. Both men are in a dangerous condition. Mr and Mrs Spiers, Messrs Stephens, Coombes, Riley and George, received severe though not serious injury. It is explained that the accident occurred owing to the first train being short of water and having to stop to refill the boiler. The weather at the time was foggy, and the leading train was not observed by the driver of the second train, nntil*too late to prevent the ■accident. .
