The Herd Laddie.— Mr Wyllie played

Lyttelton School Committee. — The usual monthly meeting of the Lyttelton School Committee was held in the schoolroom on Monday evening. There were present— Revs E. E. Chambers (Chairman), Hill and Bond, and Messrs • Gifford, Derbridge and Batten. Tho head master's report was received, stating that the average attendance for the month had been 451, the best week being 473. It was decided to give the head master power tosend any child home if diphtheria wa3 prevalent in the house. Mr T. Ocktord tendered his resignation as a member of the Committee, and Mr J. Stinson was elected in his stead. The Chairman applied for the use of a room in each school, wherein to hold a Sunday-school teachers' examina tion, which was granted.
