Charitable Aid at Rangiora.
With reference to the complaint as to the delivery of rations to the recipients of charitable aid at Rangiora, made by Councillor Cone at the Rangiora Borough Council meeting, as reported in our issue of Saturday, we have made enquiries of Mr Norris at the Charitable Aid Office, and find that the terms of the contract between the Board and the contractor for these supplies, not only at Rangiora, but tlii oughout the charitable aid district, are as followß : — " Bations are to be issued generally on Friday in every week, arrangements as to the eupplies of meat and bread only being suited to the mutual convenience of tbe contractor and the recipient." This is one of the conditions on which Mr T. Hunter, the contractor for
the Kangiora supplies, has accepted the contract, and it clearly rests with the recipients to see that ib is carried out.
