The news that the Turcomans have taken to their old occupation of raiding, murdering, devastating, and carrying off into slavery, will help moat people to see the great Central Asiatic queation in a better Ught. Theae Turcomans are the man-
stealers of Asia. * They have caused more misery and devastation than any other people on the face of the earth. The Russians, have taken hold of tliem, and after a fearful struggle and punishment have reduced them to quieacence. Now we hsar of them breaking out once more. We may ba quite sure that the police of Central Asia (the Cossack riflemen and artillerymen of the White Czar) will inflict upon them condign punishment. They have a railway now, which will help them greatly. By the way, we oncepubliahedacontributionfrom the pen of an English general officer, making light of the capacity of that railway as a mover of great armies. Since when we have seen the opinion of the famous Bussian conqueror and quondam Governor-General of the Central Asian Province, General Tchernaieff. He eaid that it would take the railway three years to move 200,000 men. Let us leave off" fearing bugbears and bogie 9, and give the Eassians all the credit Ihey deserve for the excellent work they have done in Central Asia.
