♦ [Pra Pkkss Association. J WELLINGTON, Makch 11. The Hon the Minister of Lands yesterday received the following telegram from Professor Kirk : — The quantity of growing kauri burnt at Puhi-puhi is considerably below the estimate, and in all probability ■will not exceed two-thirds of the whole, if as much. Fires are still smouldering in various places of the forest, and may start into dangerous activity with winds from the south and east, unless the rain that commenced yesterday proves continuous.
