H.M.S. SWINGER.
SHOP-LIFTING. DUNEDIN, Maech 11. Large numbers visited H.M.S. Swinger, lying at the Rattray street wharf, Dunedin. Mr Dawson, the Mayor of Dunedin, officially visited the Swinger and Calliope yesterday, to formally welcome the cojiznanders. The crew of the Swinger smartly rescued, yesterday, the crew of a yacht which was upset during the afternoon. Maria Louisa Sorley was charged to-day ■with a number of shop-lifting cases, but the evidence was only conclusive on one charge, on which she was sentenced to two months.
