Tliaing and Slavin.
[Pkb Pbbbs Association.] WANGANUI, Feb. 14. The deposit of a-side made for a match between Laing and Slavin is not likely to come to anything, though a promise has been made to meet on Monday night to sign articles. Laing has gone upcountry, and the payment waa made .by hio backer, with the condition that if a match could not be satisfactorily arranged the deposit should be returned. People here are highly dissatisfied with Laing's unsatisfactory conduct.
