The yachts Little Wonder and Pastime, and the open boat t-cnd, returned to Lyttelton. from Akaioa, this morning, after competing in the Begatta. The flags of the shipping 1 and business places in Lyttolton were hoisted at half-mast this morning, in consequence of the death of Mr J. L, Coster, H.H.8., of.Opawa. The nnip £oukar was placed in the Graving Dock yesterday morninp, to be cleaned and painted, previous to loading her homeward freight. She is announced to leave this port for London not later than Jan. 29, and takes wool for the June sales in London.
The barque Thomas Bell comes to this pott from Calcutta, via Fort Chalmers, to load produce for London, on account of the New Zealand Shipping Company. The barque Dragon is rapidly filling up with -wool for .London ; on Wednesday nieut she had 2400 bales on board. Sho is expeoted to be ready for 8c s by Tuesday next, and Bhould have about 3500 bales on board by that day. She is being loaded on account of the New Zealand Shipping Company.
