SUSPENDING OPERATIONS
WELLINGTON, Dec. 17.
The Westport Union Company have announced their intention to suspend operations ab the end of the year at the Koranui mine. This is of serious import here, and is naturally regarded with great public anxiety. Captain Riley has ordered a steel steam tug from England. She will be put together in Westport. English news by the lonic will be brought over by the Manapouri, which leaves Hobart to-day for the Bluff.
