Wool Sales

[Special to Pbbss Association.] LONDON, Dec. 16. The wool sales closed to-day without prices rallying. One hundred and twenty- five thousand bales were catalogued, and 34,000 were withdrawn, inclusive of 15,000 which had not been offered. Good greasy merino were Id, inferior 2d, scoured 2d to 3d, and cross-breds Id below September closing sales. The next of the series of sales will be opened on Jan. 25. The Board of the Inland Revenue have decided to remit the legacy duty on the Australian property belonging to the late Mrs Challis, a former resident of New South Wales.

The Agents- General, in obedience to a summons from the Hon E. Stanhope, had an interview with him to-day.
