LONDON, Dec. 17.

Dillon, O'Brien, Harris, and Sheehy, when arrested at Loughrea, were engaged in presiding over a collection of rents. They were brought up to-day, charged with obstructing the proper payment of rents, and were remanded, bail being accepted. The money collected by the prisoners from tenants for the payment rents has been seized by the police. MacHugb, the Sligo champion, arrested on the charge of inciting to boycottiDg and agrarian outrages, has been released from custody.

It is announced that Germany has annexed the Islands of Bougainville Choiseul, andY sabel, in the Solomon Group, Western Pacific.

[The Islands named are within the line of demarcation described in the treaty declaration between Great Britain and Germany, signed on April 6, 1886. Ysabel Island touches the most southerly point on this line. The estimated area of the entire group is about 10,000 square miles.]
