Mr A. Avers holds, a number of special auction sales to-morrow, as advertised.

The Stanmore Band is to perform this evening, in the Latimer Square rotunda. An auction sale of produce and miscellaneous goods will be held by Mr Arthur Beauchamp at eleven o'clock to-morrow.

Auction sales are announced by Messrs H. J. Ross and Co. for to-morrow, including produce, furniture, saddlery, drapery, and clothing.

The officials of the City Council have been instructed to take legal proceedings, before the close of the year, for the recovery of all unpaid rateß.

An auction sale of building materials, machinery, &c, will be held by Messrs R. Walton and Co., on Monday, on the premises of Messrs Howe and Co., Cashel street.

Sumner — oar correspondent writes — had a fair number of visitors yesterday. The coach and trams brought down about 450 people, and there were a great number of private traps. The Salvation Army had a big picnic down here ; I should say they numbered about 240. There were numerous private picnic parties. The weather was perfect till about three o'clock in the afternoon, when a slight wind sprang up for a short tune only.
