CHARGES OF LARCENY.
, RESIGNATION. AUCKLAND, August 7. Mary Nielson, wife of August Nielson, of .New Plymouth, and Frederick Christian, who were arrested on a charge of larceny of goods from. Augußt Nielson, were brought up at the Police Court, and remanded to New Plymoutb. Dr Young, Superintendent of the Auckland Lunatic Asylum, has resigned on the ground that the promise of an increase of salary has not been carried out. He claims JE6OO a year, the same as the Southern Superintendents. He gets .£4OO a year at present.
