THE TUAM STREET FATALITY.

♦ Proceedings at the Police Court. THIS DAT. At the Polioe Court, held in tho Provincial Council Chamber this morninsf, before Dr Frankish and R. H. Ehind and P. Donald, Enqs., John Taylor was charged with the manslaughter of JohnsoA Midgley. The interest taken in the aftem by the public, who must by this time have become accustomed to Police Court sensations, was shown by the crowded state of the gallery and environs of the Court. Inspector Pender conducted the case for the police, and Mr G. Harper appeared for the accused. Inspector Pender said that the case, as ■the Bench was no doubt aware, was the reßultof an unfortunate occurrence which happened on the previous day. It appeared that Taylor and Midgley had had some quarrel about a fence. However, he thought that under the present circumstances the less he said about the matter the better. An inquest on the body of Midgley would bo held at three o'clock in the afternoon, and he would ask the Bench -to remand the accused until tho next morning, in order to see the result of the inquest, at which he would have to be present. The case was no doubt a most unfortunate affair, but he thought there could be no objection to a remand. Mr Harper said that he had no objection to a remand at present. The Bench accordingly remanded the accused to to-morrow morning.
