Prince Bismarck is despatching Dr Busch, Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, to Egypt on a special mission to report upon the state of affairs in that countrv. PARIS, August 26. The French Press generally, in their leading articles, angrily resent the criticisms of English papers on the French bombardment of Foochow arsenal, which they have described as merciless in character. LONDON, August 27. General "Wolseley will leave for Egypt almost immediately, and, on arrival, will assume supreme command of the British troops in that country. BERLIN, August 26. The announcement that Dr Busch, Under-Secretary of Foreign Affairs, is about to proceed to Egypt, is without foundation, but it is officially announced that Dr Heinrich Karl Brugsch, the eminent philologist and Egyptologist, has been entrusted with a special mission to Teheran. [Special to Press Association.] LONDON, August 27. It is reported that the Mingan forts at Foochow were silenced by the heavy fire of the French gun boats, and also that an attack on Woosung is expected. { The Standard mentions that Egypt has declared itself bankrupt. Mr Gladstone has decided to address a public meeting at Edinburgh on Saturday.
