Charles Anderson, a Russian or Dane, was lost from the cutter Four •Sisters, off Tiritiri. He was alone on 1 deck, and at the wheel. On the mastor ' coming on -deck at 3 a.m., he found Anderson naissing. The ease of indecent assault against Captain Scotland, of the ship Crusader, was remanded for a week. Bail was allowed, himself in «£IOO and sureties .to the same .amount. | A Maori petition is being signed in the : Waikoto against the proposed Native Land • Bill, for presentation to the Assembly. The first signature is Eewi's. j At A Committee meeting of the Auckland | Crk&et^ Association, a letter from .the i Australian cricketers was read, relative to ; the proposed match in Auckland. The Secretary was instructed to reply that the Auckland .cricketers wo»ld be glad to play .a match, bwt would incur no responsibility in regard to expenses. A Leap-year rdunion -was held in the Choral Hall, in aid of the ibuilding fund of •St Thomas* Episcopalian Church ; 1000 were present. Old members of the 2nd Waikato Eegiment are taking steps to commemorate the anniversary of tSza establishiaeat of Alexandra settlement, June, 1863.
