LONDON, Jttne 5. The total reserve in the Bank of England is .£14,600,000, a decrease of 061,00Q,000 during the week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities has fallen from 48 to 47 per cent. The bank rate of discount remains at 2i per cent, and the market rate at 12 Consols aie unchanged at par, ex div ; and New Zealand securities at last quotations. There are no changes to report in the wheat and tallow markets. At the wool auction to-day 9400 bales were offered. The market con- ■ tinues firm, and cross-breds are rather { higher. 28,000 bales have been withdrawn since the opening of the series. The steamship Florida; from Wel- ■ lington (April 4), with a cargo of frozen meat, arrived here yesterday. MELBOURNE, June 6.
