LONDON, Sept. 6.

Oonßols remain at 10Q£. The Bank rate of disoount oontinues at 4 per cent, and the market rate at 3$ per oent. The Bank of England weekly return shows a total reserve in notes and bullion of £13,900,000, the same as last week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities remains at 48 per oent. New Zealand securities: — Five per cent 10-40 loan 106£ ; 5 per cent 1889 loan 1061; 41 per tent 1879-1904 Loan lOOf ; 4 per cent inscribed stock 100.. Adelaide wheat ex store 475, New Zealand wheat ex store 43s 6d to 465. New Zealand wheat, off coast cargoes, 41s 6d ; Adelaide flour ex store 335. Australian tallow — Beat beef 40s, beßt mutton 41s. At the wool sales to-day 8000 bales were offered, and there was a fair demand. Up to dato 20,000 bales have been withdrawn from salo since tbe opening of the fietiefl. Hides are in good demand. The Bank of Australasia has declared a dividend of 7 per cent for the past half year, and carries £10,000 to the reserve fund. [Heutee's Telegrams.]

First Demon has been soratched for the Randwick Plate, and Legrand is now firßt favourite for that raoe. New Zealand wheat remains at 4s 3d per bushel; New Zealand oats have fallen 2d, and are now quoted at 2s 3d ; maize, 2b IOd ; Sugar Company's No. 1 pieces, per ton, £35.

ADELAIDE, Sept. 7.

Wheat market quiet, and no bnainess doing; quotations remain at 4s lld to ss ; town flour, per ton, £11 to £11 ss ; conntry brands, £10 to £10 ss. Wool is now arriving freely, and the freight market is, in consequence, brisker. Frices aro, however, unaltered.
