Reported Repulse of the French.
LONDON, Sept. 7. The Marquis of Hartington, speaking at Sheffield, said the release of Hr Shaw, British Missionary, by the Frenoh did not remove the entire groundß of difference with France. He also mentioned that the progress of reforms in Egypt were more rapid than they appeared to be. The Frenoh exploring expedition have burned Loango. [loango, the place stated to havo been destroyed—one is at a loss to acoount for the motive — is the oapital of the Loango provinoe, and is distant about 125 miles north* ward from the month of the Congo river. Ihe town, whioh is stated to. oontain a population of 20,000, occupies a position on an open plain, about three miles from the sea. Ihe adjacent oountry produoes grain abundantly, and the Natives also subsist largely on fish. Probably the despotic ruler, having declined to aoeede to Frenoh demands, hae been made acquainted with French ideas on the universal rights of mankind.]] News has been received from Hanoi that further fighting has taken place, and it iB reported that the Frenoh troops have again been repulsed. •
